It’s been well-documented that a sedentary lifestyle and poor nutrition are problems in west Georgia that are literally cutting short the lives of our friends, our neighbors and our loved ones. These issues are contributing to heart disease—the leading cause of death in our region—as well as diabetes and even some types of cancer.
I would like to personally invite you to be part of a new effort to turn all that around, to help change—and save—lives in west Georgia.
Get Healthy West Georgia is a new three-year initiative from Tanner Health System, with initial funding from the Community Foundation of West Georgia, targeted at reducing rates of obesity and improving nutritional awareness for residents throughout Carroll, Haralson and Heard counties.
Through partnerships with schools, churches, civic clubs, local businesses, local farmers and other organizations, Get Healthy West Georgia will connect community members with the education, tools and support they need to live stronger, healthier lives.
As a leader in our community, I hope you will join Tanner in supporting or sponsoring Tanner’s Get Healthy West Georgia initiative. You will be part of Get Healthy West Georgia, making a commitment and leading the way toward a brighter, healthier future for our region.
